Can we send them all to an island somewhere?

On Sunday, a gunman entered a church, shot and killed the minister, then turned a knife on the people that tried to subdue him, before finally turning the knife on himself.

Yesterday, a man burned down his mother’s home, shot and killed nine people, then shot himself.

This morning, the news reported a gunman opening fire on a school in Germany killing sixteen people, including himself.

I’m not trying to go all conspiracy theorist on you folks, but there’s something up here.  Did you ever notice that these tragedies happen in waves?  Is it the phase of the moon?  Is there something in the water?  What compels a person to take out so many people just so they can get around to killing themselves?  I mean, if you’re going to off yourself anyway, why not just do it and leave everyone else alone?  And I’m getting really tired of this whole temporary insanity garbage.  If you are so unstable that you are driven to commit an irreparable act of violence on an innocent person, then you need to be out of society forever.  You cannot be trusted to keep your wits about you.  I don’t think you should be executed or anything like that, but I do think you should go away forever.  No more of this crap where a psychologist deems you fit for society.  You’ve already proved that you can’t handle society.  Sorry!  You messed up big and you have to pay for it.  I know this is a Debbie Downer post, but I notice that every time there is a loony shooting up a church or a school, all his homeys decide they’re going to do it, too.  Is there some sort of message board where they all chat and plan out their dastardly deeds?  Assholes.

Oh, yeah. I watched it.

I kind of like these guys.  There are a lot of things that Michelle Duggar does as a mother and wife that I look up to.  I know that most people out there don’t agree with the Quiverfull Movement because they do not believe that a woman stands equal to a man in the household hierarchy, and they think a woman really doesn’t need any education outside a high school diploma because she is basically there to have kids.  For the record, I don’t agree with this belief.  I do agree with a peaceful home, loving parents, and gentle discipline.  I think they have done a great job of raising bright, respectful children-especially considering how many they have.  Personally, one is enough for me right now, maybe one more in a couple of years, and then we’ll see.  No way would I be up for 18 kids, but then again, with her organization and their money smarts, who’s to say the average person couldn’t do it?  Some people get angry because the older kids have to help the younger ones with things like washing up, breakfast, and homework.  My grandparents all came from huge families, because that was just the way those old farmers did it.  They managed to feed them all and you better believe they were helping out as soon as they were old enough.  They all turned out reasonably well, I think.  There’s a pretty hot debate on Ravelry about all this, and I had to remove myself from it, because people were condemning this family in particular because they didn’t believe in that religious movement.  That’s not really fair, is it?  Don’t hate the player, hate the game.
